George A. Briscoe of Edison was arrested Wednesday in Edison by members of the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force and police from Hamilton and Edison, authorities said.
Briscoe was arrested and charged in connection with the alleged murder, by shooting a man in the head in a parked car last month, according to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri.
Dashawn Womack, 39, of Hamilton was killed in the shooting, the prosecutor said.
Briscoe was charged with murder, felony murder, robbery and multiple weapons offenses, Onofri said.
The prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to detain Briscoe pending trial.
At about 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, Hamilton patrol officers reportedly found Womack in a parked vehicle on Rosalie Avenue, adjacent to Victor Avenue. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head and was pronounced dead at the crime scene, Onofri said.
